COURTNEY LOVE is in the process of forming a brand new band, NME.COM can reveal.
The enigmatic Hole frontwoman has been in discussions with the record label Epitaph to “assemble and front a femme punk supergroup” for a “really fun one-off”, according to a posting on the official Hole website, [url=]www.holemusic.com.
It is currently unclear who will make up the rest of her band, and a UK spokesperson for Love was unavailable for comment this afternoon.
In other news, according to the LA Times newspaper, Love is due to appear in Los Angeles County Superior Court today (February 28) for a preliminary hearing in her ongoing contractual dispute with music giant Vivendi Universal, with whom she is trying to break her contract.
Speaking in today’s paper, she said she could become “the music industry’s worst nightmare” as the case progresses.
She said: “I could end up being the music industry’s worst nightmare: a smart gal with a fat bank account who is unafraid to go down in flames fighting for a principle… I’m ready to take this thing all the way to the Supreme Court.”
