TOO SOON FOR AN 80s REVIVAL?

Remember those fabulous 80s? We wish we didn't...

Holly Johnson returns with his first single in five years next month. ‘Disco Heaven’, released on the ex-Frankie Goes To Hollywood singer’s own label Pleasuredome, is out on September 6, the first track from forthcoming album ‘Soulstream’, out on October 4. Holly also directed the video for the single – a homage to dead gay clubland icons such as Divine – which features cameo appearances by Boy George playing the late Leigh Bowrey and Jasper Conran as American fashion designer Halston.

He has also urged fans in the US not to waste their money on a band who are passing themselves off as Frankie Goes To Hollywood who are currently touring there.

Meanwhile there are retrospective albums from Gary Numan and Yazoo. Numan‘s three albums ‘Outland’, ‘The Skin Mechanic Live’ and ‘Metal Rhythm’ are released by EMI on September 13.

Mute records release ‘Only You – The Best Of Yazoo’ on September 6, whicgh gathers together singles and tracks from the band’s two albums with the inevitable 90s remixes.
