Canadian garage band premiere their new promo on NME.COM

Hooded Fang have unveiled the new video for their track ‘ Ode to Subterrania’ – watch it above.

The track is the second single from the Canadian garage rockers’ third album ‘Gravez’, which will be released on May 27. It follows 2010’s ‘Album’ and 2012’s ‘Tosta Mista’. Speaking about the album, bassist April Aliermo said in a typically bizarre statement: “We’ve been to the moon and back. There were really amazing times and really rough times… like any journey to the moon.” She added: “We ate crocodile balls, slept on floors and couches, watched TV and movies, and looked out the window in between. All this steady instability must have influenced ‘Gravez’.”

The album is a mixture of live recordings and tweaked home demos. “This is our first album as this line-up, and the first time that we got together in a studio to record live off the floor… we’ve toured a lot, so we felt comfortable playing together,” they said, before adding that a new album is already underway. “We still have a lot of material, both live-band recorded, and home recorded. They just didn’t fit on this specific record, so we’ll release it later.”

Hooded Fang are set to come to return to the UK later this year. They will play:

Manchester Roadhouse (September 20)
Glasgow Broadcast (21)
Birmingham Hare & Hounds (23)
London Hoxton Bar & Kitchen (24)
