Hot Chip ‘confirm’ themselves for Glastonbury Festival

'One Life Stand' band say they'll be in Somerset

Hot Chip have all but confirmed themselves for this year’s Glastonbury festival.

The London dance/pop band’s frontman Alexis Taylor dropped a series of telling hints to BBC Newsbeat that the band would be returning to the Somerset event this June following their Other Stage performance in 2008 at the event, during which they were joined on stage by rapper Wiley.

“You’ll potentially see us in the Somerset area of the UK around the end of June I’d imagine,” he joked. “I have been to that part of the world and enjoyed being there. Nice cider there, good music and good atmosphere.”

Glastonbury takes place on June 25-27 this year. Hot Chip are set to release their fourth album, ‘One Life Stand’, on February 1.

So far U2 have been officially confirmed to headline the festival.
