Click below to watch the video for ‘Need You Now’, which was directed by Shynola. ‘Why Make Sense?’ will be released on Domino on May 18 and is Hot Chip’s follow-up to 2012 album ‘In Our Heads’. The album was recorded in Oxfordshire and London and produced by Hot Chip with Mark Ralph. It will be available on all standard formats as well as a special edition featuring a bonus Separate EP with four new tracks recorded during the album sessions.
Copies of Hot Chip‘s new album will all feature individual artwork thanks to a bespoke printing technique. The album artwork was made using bespoke printing technique meaning that each album will come in one of 501 colour variants. The Nick Relph-designed artwork will feature subtle variations of the design which, combined with the variations in colour, means that no two copies of the record will be the same.
Three low-key UK live dates have also been announced to support the release of the record. Hot Chip will play gigs in London, Glasgow and Manchester in May. See below for venue and date details.
The ‘Why Make Sense? tracklisting is as follows:
‘Love Is The Future’
‘Cry For You’
‘White Wine And Fried Chicken’
‘Easy To Get’
‘Need You Now’
‘So Much Further To Go’
‘Why Make Sense?’
