Hot Chip say they’ve nearly finished work on new album

Guitarist Al Doyle says band have 'one more song' to record before album's finished

Hot Chip have almost completed work on their new album, according to reports.

The electro band’s guitarist Al Doyle took to Twitter to reveal that they had just “one more song” to record before the LP was finished.

He wrote:

hot chip album update: we have one more song to record then we have enough songs and we’re gonna stop. Cannot wait to play them to y’all. al

Previously, Hot Chip‘s Alexis Taylor told NME that the new album would feature Buddhist chanting monks. Speaking about the sessions, he said: “We’re really happy with how it’s going. We’re trying to build up a good batch of songs before we get too excited about finishing the album.

“We want to keep going and try out as many different things as possible, so we’ve got the best album we can make.”

Hot Chip are thought to be releasing the album, which is the follow-up to 2010’s ‘One Life Stand’, later this year. While LP does not have a title yet, there will be two tracks, likely to appear on the final cut, called ‘Ends Of The Earth’ and ‘Look At Where We Are’.
