Hot Chip cover Bruce Springsteen and LCD Soundsystem on new EP – watch

David Byrne makes a cameo in the clip

Hot Chip have unveiled a video for their cover of Bruce Springsteen‘s ‘Dancing In The Dark’.

The video, airing below, features live footage spliced in with clips from 1980s TV shows. It also includes a cameo from David Byrne and an interpolation of LCD Soundsystem‘s ‘All My Friends’ (at the five minute mark). Watch below.

Hot Chip will release a new four-track ‘Dancing In The Dark’ EP on Friday (October 23). It will include the Springsteen cover, a reworking of their track ‘Cry For You’, plus remixes of recent single ‘Huarache Lights’ by both Soulwax and A/Jus/Ted.

Hot Chip’s latest album ‘Why Make Sense?’ was released in May.

In an interview with NME earlier this year, vocalist Joe Goddard spoke about his enjoyment working with his fellow bandmates.

“I don’t think I’ve ever questioned [the future of the band],” he said, before jokingly adding, “although, if I had some enormo mega-hit outside of Hot Chip, I’d obviously leave the band and pursue that.”

Hot Chip are currently in the middle of a UK tour. They will play the remaining dates:

Nottingham Rock City (October 20)
Cambridge Corn Exchange (21)
London O2 Brixton Academy (22)
