Howling Bells work on new album

The band are recording in London and plan to tour in 2008

Howling Bells have revealed that they are currently recording their second album in London.

Writing on their Howling Bells MySpace blog, the band hinted that they may post new material online soon and were planning a tour for later in 2008.

“Back in rough and ready London,” they wrote. “[We are] spending most of our waking hours mixing, writing, thinking, breathing and contemplating the new album! It’s super exciting for us to be finishing these new tracks.

“There’s definitely a different energy about the songs. [They] still totally sound like us, just different. Hard to explain. As soon as we have some new tracks to give, we will! [We] should be doing some cool little festivals in the next few months until we start our first proper tour later in the year.”

The new album will be the follow-up to the band’s self-titled debut, which they released in May 2006.
