Calvin Harris has revealed that he used to live off whiskey and Greggs pasties during his early years as a live vocalist and DJ.
The superstar DJ and producer, who sang on some of his early material such as ‘Acceptable In The 80s’, responded to a fan on Twitter who said they missed the Scottish artist singing live.
The last thing I want to do is down 2 bottles of jack daniels a night, live on greggs pasties and sleep on an absolutely stinking bus all year, scream down a mic for 55 minutes and pretend to play a keyboard 5x a week those days are behind me son https://t.co/IWX5zXCe9u

Later in the thread, Harris said that Greggs pasties and booze “got me in a right old state” and discouraged anyone from copying his behaviour.
Wouldn’t dream of encouraging anyone to drink 2 bottle of JD a night and live off Greggs the baker got me in a right old state my dear https://t.co/dYMzMgUfzU

In November last year, Harris said that EDM of recent years sounds nothing like the music that he enjoys making.
When asked by a fan on Twitter if he would return to his EDM roots, he said: “EDM has been sad, slow songs for years now. Doesn’t have anything in common with the music I love to make. 2010-2014 edm was more house influenced to me. Anyway now I’m out the bubble and making big records with amazing singers that sound like house music to me…”
The producer extraordinaire topped Forbes’ list of the highest paid DJs for the sixth year in a row in 2018.
Harris reportedly earned $48,000,000, which is based on pre-tax earnings from June 1, 2017 through June 1, 2018.
