Ian Brown planning career-spanning set at Platt Fields festival

Singer preparing for June 11 event in Manchester

Ian Brown has said he is planning a career-spanning set when he plays Platt Fields in Fallowfield, Manchester on June 11.

The former Stone Roses singer is set to head up a bill featuring Bad Lieutenant, UNKLE and DJ sets from Mr. Scruff, Peter Hook and Mike Pickering at the outdoor event.

Brown told NME that he would play “all the best songs that I’ve amassed over a period of 20-odd years”, hinting that he would be featuring heavily from The Stone Roses‘ back catalogue.

He added: “I do have a few little treats lined up. But a surprise is a surprise and I’m not going to tell you about it! But what I will say is that we’ve got five or six shows leading up to it, so we should be on red-hot form by the time we get to Platt Fields.”
