Ian Brown will release his second solo album – provisionally titled ‘Golden Greats’ – in mid-November through Polydor.
It is expected to be preceded by a new single, ‘Love Like A Fountain’. This will be the first release from the former Stone Roses frontman since his UNKLE collaboration ‘Be There’ in February.
Since his debut album ‘Unfinished Monkey Business’ was released last year, Brown has parted company with most of his live backing band and the forthcoming album is expected to be more dance-orientated.
The album’s full track-listing is: ‘Getting High”Love Like A Fountain”Getting High (All Over Again)”Free My Way”Set My Baby Free”So Many Soldiers”Golden Gaze”Dolphins Were Monkeys”Neptune”First World”Babasonicos’
Meanwhile, Brown’s former Stone Roses bandmate, John Squire, has formed a new band called Reluctance. They are rumoured to be very similar to early Roses, circa ‘Mersey Paradise’.
