Roots Manuva, DJ KOOL HERC and Ice-T producer AFRIKA ISLAM are among the stars set to appear at the PlayStation II UK Breakdance Championships at BRIXTON ACADEMY on October 1.
The annual event, now in its fifth year, will be hosted by the Rock Steady Crew‘s Crazy Legs – the crew being one of breakdancing’s pioneering forces, who helped popularise the craze in the early ’80s.
Eight teams will battle for the team title. They are: The Scarecrows (UK), Suicidal Lifestyle (Hungary), Barcelona Addictos (Spain), Rock Steady Crew (USA), 5 Amox (Germany), Connexion (France), Soul Control (USA) and defending champions Bag Of Trix (Canada).
A smattering of UK hip-hop names, including DJ Skitz, Riddla and Wildflower will also perform at the 5,000 capacity event.
