Band will now play Dublin and Belfast as part of UK tour
Idlewild have added to extra dates to the 2015 tour they announced last month.
The band will return next year with new studio album ‘Everything Ever Written’ and will hit the road in March. Today it has been announced that Idlewild will play additional gigs in Belfast, at The Limelight on March 20, and Dublin Academy on March 21.
‘Everything Ever Written’ is the band’s eighth LP and will be produced by guitarist Rod Jones. It is due to be released on February 9 and marks their first album with contributions from new members Luciano Rossi and Andrew Mitchell.
Idlewild will play:
Glasgow O2 ABC (March 7/8)
Birmingham The Institute(10)
Manchester The Ritz (12)
London Roundhouse (13)
Belfast, The Limelight (20)
Dublin, The Academy (21)
The album will be the group’s first since the release of ‘Post Electric Blues’ in 2009. Woomble has released two solo records in that time, while Jones has put out material under his own name in addition to forming band The Birthday Suit. Such was the length of the break that last year a campaign began urging fans to boycott all side-projects in the hope that Idlewild would reform. In response, Jones penned a letter claiming that it had almost discouraged him from making music altogether.
