Norman Blake joins the band for a rousing run through the Fannies' debut single 'Everything Flows'...

Idlewild were joined on stage by Teenage Fanclub frontman NORMAN BLAKE at their homecoming GLASGOW BARROWLAND show.

Blake joined the band for a cover of the Teenage Fanclub‘s 1990 debut single ‘Everything Flows’, which Idlewild covered on the B-side of their last single, ‘Live In A Hiding Place’, for the encore at their gig on Monday night (December 16). He played guitar and traded verses of the song with Roddy Woomble. He remained on stage for the rest of the encore, ‘In The Remote Part’/’Scottish Fiction’.

The show’s setlist ran:

‘Little Discourage’

‘You Held The World In Your Arms’

‘A Modern Way Of Letting Go’

‘These Wooden Ideas’

‘I’m A Message’

‘I Am What I Am Not’

‘Happy To Be Here Tonight’

‘When I Argue I See Shapes’

‘Live In A Hiding Place’

‘Century After Century’

‘Stay The Same’

‘American English’

‘Film For The Future’

‘Everything Flows’

‘In The Remote Part/Scottish Fiction’

Blake had previously sung on Idlewild‘s recorded cover version of the song.

The band rounded off their triumphant headline tour last night (December 17) in their home town of Edinburgh, getting a great reception despite Roddy Woomble apologising that his voice was just about ready to pack in.
