Idlewild, currently on the NME Premier Tour which ends at London WC2 Astoria on January 24, release a new single, ‘When I Argue I See Shapes’, on February 1.
The title track is a rerecorded version of a song from the band’s 1998 album ‘Hope Is Important’. The single, the follow-up to October’s ‘I’m A Message’, also features a cover of ‘Palace Flophouse’, originally by recent Idlewild tourmates Peeps Into Fairyland.
Released on two CDs and a seven-inch, extra tracks also include a new version of their Fierce Panda release ‘Chandelier’ recorded on piano, and ‘Last Night I Missed All The Fireworks’ .
The NME Premier Tour, which also features UNKLE, Delakota and Llama Farmers, is at Sheffield University tonight (January 15), then Warwick University (16), Cardiff University (18), Bristol University (19), Oxford Brookes University (20), Leicester De Montford University (22) and Norwich UEA (23).
