Iggy Azalea responds to Erykah Badu diss and confirms new album is finished

Australian rapper labels Badu's recent remarks as 'exhausting'

Iggy Azalea has responded to recent disparaging remarks made about her by Erykah Badu.

Badu appeared to insult the rapper while hosting the Soul Train Awards on Sunday night (November 29). During her opening monologue, Badu pretended to answer her phone and said: “Who is this? Oh Iggy Azalea, hey! No, no, no, no, you can come ’cause what you do definitely is not rap.”

Now Azalea has taken to Twitter to brush off the comments. She wrote: “We are days from 2016, but I came online today and saw it’s still cool to try and discredit my 2014 accomplishments. LOL, fucking hell.”

She added: “Seems exhausting. Anyway – I’ve been enjoying the holiday season and I hope you all have too.”

Meanwhile, Azalea also took the time to update fans about her next album, stating that she’s “ready” and that it is all “finished… except for getting the features recorded.”

The rapper also said that she is “trying to restructure some things to work smoother and better for me”, which will “take a few weeks”.

Iggy Azalea recently told fans her new album will be called ‘Digital Distortion’. The Australian rapper confirmed the title to a Twitter follower who questioned Azalea over possible track titles for her upcoming release.

Azalea previously revealed that she scrapped a whole album’s worth of material while working on the follow up to debut ‘The New Classic’. The 2014 album helped establish Azalea as a major pop artist and included the hit single ‘Fancy’, featuring Charli XCX.
