The rapper quit social media in February this year, telling fans “I need to be happy and it is too negative and draining.”

At the start of the year, Azalea said that the criticism she receives for her role in the hip-hop world are “100,000 per cent to do with the fact I have a vagina”.

In December last year, the rapper came under fire from critics for appropriating black culture.

Speaking to Vanity Fair about her background, Azalea said: “Well, I never thought it was strange. If you go back to The Rolling Stones and Elvis Presley and Eminem – they’ve all basically done black music. I felt this wasn’t that far from what we’ve seen in music history over and over again.”

Asked if she thought criticisms of her were rooted in misogyny, she replied: “Well, they don’t say that stuff about Macklemore. So, yes, I think it has 100,000 percent to do with the fact that I have a vagina.”

Meanwhile, Britney Spears took to twitter last week (April 10) to tease lyrics to the single.

Spears posted a photo on Twitter that appeared to be taken on the set for the ‘Pretty Girls’ music video alongside lyrics from the track.

‘Pretty Girls’ is due to be released on May 5 in the US, a UK release date is yet to be set.
