Iggy Azalea teamed up with Jennifer Hudson for a live performance of their new single ‘Trouble’ last night (March 29).
The pair played the track at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles. You can watch footage by scrolling below.
Azalea was nominated for five awards on the night including Artist Of The Year, Best New Artist, Best Collaboration for ‘Fancy’ with Charli XCX and ‘Problem’ with Ariana Grande, plus the Renegade Award.
But she failed to pick up any prizes. Taylor Swift, who also collaborated with Madonna for the Queen Of Pop’s latest single ‘Ghostown’, won three awards at the ceremony including Artist Of The Year.
Other winners on the night included Sam Smith who won Best New Artist, Calvin Harris who picked up Dance Song Of The Year for ‘Summer’. ‘Bang Bang’, Jessie J’s collaboration with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj also scored Best Collaboration.
A rapper from Compton recently claimed to be the ghostwriter of Azalea’s verses in her smash-hit ‘Fancy’. The single, was released in February 2014, peaking at Number One in the US and Number Five in the UK. It was nominated for a 2015 Grammy Award for ‘Best Record’. Now, rapper Skeme has told Sirius XM’s ‘Sway In The Morning’ that he “had something to do” with Azalea’s track.
Skeme had been described on the show as “Grammy-nominated” and “Billboard certificated”, with the hosts pushing the rapper to explain these claims. Skeme responded: “That’s what the [ghostwriting is] about. I’ve got a certificate and a nice ass suit and like four or five plaques.”
After being pushed to confirm if he wrote Azalea’s verses on ‘Fancy’, Skeme added: “We had something to do with it, a lot of vibe, a lot of push. We put trust funds up for that song.”
