Iggy Azalea responds to Azealia Banks’ Eric Garner related dig

The Australian rapper commented: 'Theres more to sparking a change than trolling on social media'

Iggy Azalea has responded to Azealia BanksEric Garner related dig, which saw Banks accuse Azalea of picking and choosing from black culture, but ignoring the larger issues at play.

“Its funny to see people Like Igloo Australia silent when these things happen…,” wrote Banks yesterday (December 3) on Twitter, when a grand jury refused to indict the police officer who placed the unarmed Eric Garner in a banned chokehold in New York this summer. Garner later died.

Banks continued: “Black Culture is cool, but black issues sure aren’t huh?… If you’re down to ride with us bitch you gotta RIDE ALL THE WAY… Don’t just be down to ride Black Dick….. If you with us you WITH US!!!!…LOL… IM PETTY, but its so true, ugh, that wannabe black girl shit makes me wanna throw a jar of my piss at her LMFAOOOO.”

Azalea responded earlier today, also on Twitter, writing: “Theres more to sparking a change than trolling on social media. World issues shouldnt be used as a poor excuse to promote fan battles.”

She continued: “Make sure you do something to let YOUR government know how you feel when something is unjust., not JUST your followers on twitter… CLEARLY your CONCERN is finding any reason to promote shade, trolling, fan fights and memes. I know you guys by now, you don’t fool me.”

Azalea also shared a link to an article on Bustle.com, listing five ways to help the protestors of Ferguson and the family of dead teenager Mike Brown.
