The baby-size version of the MP3 player will be available later this year...

The legendary IPOD just got smaller with the launch yesterday (January 6) of the IPOD MINI.

After stealing the cool corner of the portable mp3 hardware market with the iPod, computer giant apple are set to launch the baby-size version of the player, which will be available in the US from February and worldwide from April.

Launched yesterday at the Macworld Expo industry fair in San Francisco, the iPod Mini holds up to 1,000 CD quality songs, weighs just 102mg and is smaller than most mobile phones.

It will come in silver, gold, pink and blue, while the 4GB model will be green. The recommended UK selling price will be £199.
