Apple reports a massive increse in sales of the MP3 player...

The huge success of the iPOD has seen computer giant APPLE’s profits soar.

The company have just announced financial results for its 2004 second quarter.

Apple shipped 807,000 iPods during the quarter, representing a 909% percent increase compared to a year ago.

Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO said: “We experienced growth in most areas of our business—most dramatically in selling a record 807,000 iPods, up more than 900 percent over the prior year.”

UK music fans are waiting for the launch of the iPod Mini, whose release was delayed until the summer to cope with demand in the US.
