On November 30 at 6pm KST, the five-member JYP Entertainment act released the music video for ‘Cheshire’ from their mini-album which also dropped concurrently.
The bold new visuals see the ITZY members performing their choreography on a stage set of a reality game show. The group then appear in a space with green screens that transform into venues like a snowy landscape and a classroom.
“Hey, why so serious? / Just trust what you see / Don’t complicate it, nothing’s wrong, right? / Can you see me? Hey, why so curious? / Trust your gut, not your logic / Just take it easy, anything’s right,” they sing in the chorus.
Besides ‘Cheshire’, ITZY’s sixth mini-album also includes three B-sides — ‘Snowy’, Freaky’, and their first original English-language track ‘Boys Like You’, which also acts as the pre-release single for ‘Cheshire’. Released in October, this song came three months after the release of their fifth mini-album ‘Checkmate’, which was led by the single ‘Sneakers’.
ITZY will premiere the live performance of ‘Cheshire’ at Mnet’s annual MAMA Awards later today. The girl group have been nominated in several categories at the 2022 MAMA Awards, including Best Female Group, Artist of the Year and Worldwide Fans’ Choice Top 10.
