J.Cole debuts new track ‘Middle Child’

"I'm dead in the middle of two generations."

J.Cole has returned with new track ‘Middle Child’ – and it’s a contemplative look at what happens when you’re caught in the middle of two generations.

The new offering from the US rapper sees him teaming up with T-Minus and also features brief mentions of Jay-Zt, Drake and 21 Savage.

“I’m dead in the middle of two generations I’m little bro and big bro all at once,” Cole raps on the track.

Making reference to Drake, he says: “Just put the Rollie right back on my wrist. This watch came from Drizzy, he gave me a gift. Back when the rap game was prayin’ I’d diss. They act like two legends cannot coexist, but I’d never beef with a n***a for nothin’. If I smoke a rapper, it’s gon’ be legit.”

The new offering from J Cole comes after he released his fifth album KOD in 2018.

In a four star review, NME hailed him as one of the “US’s finest rappers.”

Cole’s incisive, mic-dropping end to ‘KOD’ reiterates his importance to the rap game in 2018 and, if you’re the speculating type, could even serve as a taster for an imminent full-length follow-up. His fans can and will dream about that – and you should too,” stated our review.
