The visuals for the 'KOD' track see the stand-up comedian and actor in the leading role - with Cole making a brief cameo
J. Cole has shared the new video for his latest single ‘Kevin’s Heart’, which stars comedian Kevin Hart in the lead role – check it out below.
The North Carolina rapper has just released his fifth studio album, ‘KOD’, which was only announced last week.
Cole has followed up the recent video for the ‘KOD’ track ‘ATM’ with the new visuals for ‘Kevin’s Heart’, which puts the Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle actor – a close friend of Cole – in the forefront of the clip.
The song was largely inspired by Hart’s recent alleged cheating scandal, when he was forced to publicly apologise on Instagram in September 2017 to his pregnant wife, Eniko Parrish, and his children.
Cole has explained in a new interview with Vulture that he was influenced by a subsequent discussion about the nature of relationships and infidelity he had with his wife following Hart’s post.
Speaking about the song, Hart told Vulture: “I thought it was dope. It wasn’t done from a hateful or spiteful place. It was done with a smart intent behind it, which I think a lot of Cole’s stuff is done.”
Last week, rumours circulated online that Cole is working on a secret collaborative project with Kendrick Lamar.
