J Mascis streams new album ‘Tied To A Star’ on NME.COM – listen

Dinosaur Jr frontman's latest solo LP features Cat Power

J Mascis is streaming his latest solo album ‘Tied To A Star’ exclusively on NME.COM – listen to it here.

The 10-track LP was produced by the Dinosaur Jr frontman himself and will be released on August 25 via Sub Pop. It is the follow-up to his 2011 solo debut ‘Several Shades Of Why’.

Cat Power guests on the album, as does Ken Maiuri of Young@Heart Chorus, Pall Jenkins of The Black Heart Procession and Mark Mulcahy of Miracle Legion.

J Mascis recently appeared with the surviving members of Nirvana following their Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction at an intimate show in Brooklyn’s tiny Saint Vitus bar. He joined the band for renditions of Nirvana’s ‘Drain You’, ‘Pennyroyal Tea’ and ‘School’. St Vincent’s Annie Clark, Joan Jett, Kim Gordon and Deer Tick’s John McCauley also fronted the band during the special gig this April.
