Ja Rule puts curse on NBA basketball team after awkward halftime show

It's his revenge for the teaming mocking him on Twitter

Ja Rule has “cursed” an NBA basketball team after he gave an awkward halftime performance during a match.

The rapper and singer was booked to perform between halves in the game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks, held at the latter’s home court at Fiserv Forum.

The game was billed as “nineties night”, which Rule commented on as he was due to start his performance. “They said this was nineties night so they brought out a 2000s artist,” he said. “But my album came out in ’99 so I guess that counts.”

He then signalled to the DJ that he was ready to begin his set and asked the crowd if they were ready twice. However, some issues held up the start of the show, with the star responding: “I guess we’re not.”

When the issue was fixed, Ja Rule performed ‘Livin’ It Up’, Jennifer Lopez’s ‘I’m Real’, and more while flanked by a team of dancers. However, thanks to the delay, the players had to begin warming up for the second half while the performance was still ongoing.

The star received some mockery online for the set, including from the Timberwolves’ official Twitter account. “We too were hustled, scammed, bamboozled, hoodwinked, lead astray!!!” they captioned a photo of Ja Rule, referencing his comments about the disastrous Fyre Festival.

“You just jinx yourself talking to the GOD this way… your CURSED NOW!!!” he wrote in reply. “You won’t win a championship for the next 30 years… AND KAT IS LEAVING!!! Apologise and I’ll lift the CURSE!!! Kiss of death…”

He also tweeted in response to other comments about his performance, writing: “Y’all really be on my dick… let’s be CLEAR my sound was fucked up at first and didn’t come on when it was supposed to but I rocked that bitch… thanks for the love Milwaukee!!! Great win my streak continues… lol.”

Earlier this month it was reported that Ja Rule wants to host another “iconic” event, despite the failure of Fyre Festival.
