Jack Garratt on course for UK Number 1 album with debut ‘Phase’

But, can he fight off fierce competition from The BRITs performers?

Jack Garratt is leading the race to Number 1 on this week’s Official Albums Chart with his debut ‘Phase’.

The singer is almost 3,000 chart sales ahead of his nearest rival Adele at this stage, with ’25’ currently at Number 2 on today’s Update, the Official Charts Company reports.

David Bowie‘s ‘Best Of Bowie’ also falls a place to Number 3, while Justin Bieber‘s ‘Purpose’ falls one place to Number 4, and Coldplay‘s ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ stays at Number 5.

With the likes of Adele, Bieber and Rihanna set to perform at The BRIT Awards on Wednesday (February 24), Garratt has some pretty tough competition to remain at Number One.

Garratt – who is this year’s recipient of The BRIT Awards Critics’ Choice accolade – isn’t the only artist vying for the top spot.

Australian rockers Wolfmother are on track for a third Top 40 with ‘Victorious’ at Number 17 and following her appearance on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, Sia’s ‘1000 Forms Of Fear’ has climbed 18 places to land at Number Eighteen today.

Animal Collective eye a second Top 40 with ‘Painting With’, and UK rockers Inglorious start at 27 with their self-titled debut.

The vinyl version of Foo Fighters’ EP ‘Saint Cecilia’ is at 39 – the EP was previously available as a free download in November, dedicated to the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks.

Meanwhile, on the Official Singles Chart Update, Lukas Graham’s ‘7 Years’ remains on top, with Jonas Blue & Dakota and Rihanna completing the top three.
