'Citizen Jack: How Jack White Built an Empire From the Blues' gets a release date
The Jack White biography will be published in October with a release date of October 4. Titled ‘Citizen Jack: How Jack White Built an Empire From the Blues,’ the book will be published by The Overlook Press.
Authored by veteran music writer Nick Hasted, the biography is 320 pages long, with 16 colour photographs in two eight-page inserts.
Described as ‘the only book yet to tell the full story of the 21st century’s most influential rock star’ the book will contain interviews from people close to White, including former bandmate Brendan Benson and Third Man artists such as Neil Young and Seasick Steve.
It’s also set to describe the Detroit scene in which ‘The White Stripes first flourished’. “No other book goes as deep into the lore of Jack White and The White Stripes,” the accompanying description reads.Neil Hasted has previously written biographies on Eminem and The Kinks.
Jack White recently produced a new single by country singer Dwight Yoakam for White’s label Third Man Records.
Yoakam has covered The Monkees’ 1966 song ‘Tomorrow’s Gonna Be Another Day’ and The Beach Boys’ ‘High On The Mountain Of Love’ for the single, which will be released on 7” and digital on June 10.
White has regularly produced singles for other artists for Third Man Records under its Blue Series banner. Other Blue Series singles have included Courtney Barnett, Beck, Michael Kiwanuka and Tom Jones.
