Jack White appears as surprise guest at Beck gig – watch

The pair performed 'Loser' and 'Pay No Mind' together

Jack White appeared as a surprise guest at a Beck gig this weekend (July 26) – watch footage of it above.

The singer, who headlined the Newport Folk Festival on Saturday night, finished his own gig and then headed straight over to neighbouring Providence, where he appeared onstage with Beck.

Introduced as the “best bartender in the world,” Billboard reports that the former White Stripes man performed acoustic guitar and sang backing vocals for a number of Beck tracks during the encore, including ‘Pay No Mind’ and ‘Loser’.

Sean Lennon, who had opened for Beck that night, then came onstage to perform a medley of ‘Where It’s At’ and ‘One Foot In The Grave’. At one point during the set, White also performed a guitar solo and took part in a choreographed dance sequence.

Back in 2012, Beck released a song on Jack White’s Third Man Records label, which was recorded in the Blue Room of the Nashville HQ. He also appears on Beck’s forthcoming ‘Song Reader’ album.

Tomorrow night (July 29), Jack White will throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Detroit Tigers baseball match. The singer was invited by the local baseball team to start its game against Chicago White Sox.
