Jada Pinkett Smith and Willow Smith are recording a song together

The mother-and-daughter duo are planning to release 'Dear Father' in the very near future

Jada Pinkett Smith and Willow Smith have confirmed that they are currently recording a song together, with more music planned.

The mother and daughter pair are putting the finishes touches to the track, which is currently titled ‘Dear Father’ – which may be a reference to the title of the late Tupac‘s (who was a close friend of Pinkett Smith) song, ‘Dear Mama’.

Speaking to Billboard, Pinkett Smith was asked if her band, Wicked Wisdom, had any plans to release new music – but she instead revealed that she’d been working in the studio with Willow.

“I actually have a song with Willow that we did together,” she said. “It’s called ‘Dear Father’ and we are still working on it. But it’s pretty dope. Willow has always wanted to do some stuff with me. She grew up with Wicked Wisdom on tour so it’s always been her dream to play with the band and play with me on stage.

“It’s really fun. So we’re thinking about doing four songs or something.”

Back in April, Willow’s brother Jaden claimed that he had formed a “rock band” with his sister and his girlfriend, Odessa Adlon. The 20-year-old also released a snippet of music from the project.
