Jake Bugg plays intimate gig in London pub

The afternoon performance was for 100 fans

Jack Bugg this afternoon (October 24) played an intimate gig at the Old Queen’s Head pub in London to celebrate his run of headline shows at Brixton Academy this week.

Bugg played his first ever London headline show at the tiny north London venue just 18 months ago in March 2012. Attended by an audience of 100 ticket winners, the crowd was picked from 3,000 hopefuls who applied on Twitter and via the Jake Bugg mailing list.

“The first time I ever did a show in London I played in this exact same room,” Jake told the crowd. “It seemed a lot bigger then to be honest.”

Jake played a mixture of songs from his debut album and some tracks from his forthcoming second album, ‘Shangri La’, which is due for release on November 18. After the show, he greeted fans and signed autographs.

One fan, Suzan Masters, 20, from London, said she’d skipped university for the day to come along. “I’m shaking!” she said after having her photo taken with Jake. “I had uni today but I skipped it after I won tickets for this on Twitter. I couldn’t not come!”

Jake Bugg plays Brixton Academy tonight (October 24) and Friday, October 25, before continuing his U.K. tour.

Jake Bugg played:

‘Trouble Town’
‘Country Song’
‘Pine Trees’
‘Me and You’
‘Two Fingers’
‘Simple As This’
‘Seen It All’
‘Lightning Bolt’
