Singer covers 'Definitely Maybe' classic for Radio 1
Bugg appeared on the station as it invites each act nominated for the British Breakthrough Act at this years Brit Awards to perform each day this week. Bugg was the second artist to appear following Ben Howard’s turn on Monday (February 11). Alt-J, Jessie Ware and Rita Ora will also be appearing, each one performing a cover of a previous Brit Award winner.
After performing his new single ‘Seen It All’, Bugg spoke to host Sara Cox about his decision to cover the ‘Definitely Maybe’ album track, and said: “Hopefully the song might sound alright but it could all go wrong.”
Jake Bugg recently hit out at Mumford & Sons, saying they look like “posh farmers with banjos”.
The Brit Awards take place on February 20 at London’s O2 Arena. Muse, One Direction, Robbie Williams, Emeli Sande, Mumford & Sons and Ben Howard will be performing at the event. Alt-J led the way with three nominations, including nods for Best British Group, Best British Album and British Breakthrough. Mumford & Sons were also tipped in the Best British Group category, as well as in the Best Live Act category and Best British Album category for their second LP, ‘Babel’.
