Singer plays track from self-titled debut LP on US chat show
Jake Bugg appeared on Conan O’Brien’s US chat show yesterday (January 18) to perform his track ‘Two Fingers’.
The Nottingham singer-songwriter was invited to Conan to play the song, which features on his self-titled debut LP and was released as the album’s fifth single in September last year, when it reached Number 28 on the Official UK Singles Chart.
Bugg released the album last year in October and it went straight to Number One, dethroning Mumford and Sons‘ ‘Babel’ and beating Leona Lewis‘ ‘Glassheart’ into third place. Infamously, Bugg later remarked: “It’s my job to keep that X Factor shit off the top of the charts.”
Speaking recently to NME, the singer said he still found his chart success a “bit crazy”, recalling: “I was in my hotel just chilling, actually. I was flying out to America the next day, so to hear that before I went off to America… I couldn’t believe it basically. I made a few calls but I didn’t really do anything major, because I just didn’t believe it. It still seems a bit crazy to me, even now.”
Bugg is set to play a pair of Ibiza and Majorca Rocks shows in June of this year, and has also already been confirmed for the line-ups for the Isle Of Wight Festival and the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas.
