Jake Bugg: ‘Noel Gallagher’s put his wild days behind him’

Nottingham upstart says the guitarist is behaving himself on tour

Jake Bugg says Noel Gallagher has put his wild days behind him.

The Nottingham newcomer has just set off on tour supporting Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds in the US and says there’s not as much partying as you might expect on the road with the former Oasis man.

“Noel is looking after himself, making sure he has plenty of rest and stuff,” he told The Sun. “We’ve had a couple of drinks, but not too many though as obviously we’re on the road and have to try and be healthy… I try my best but being 18 it can be quite difficult.”

When asked if Noel has put his wild days behind him, Bugg replied: “I’d say so.” He added: “We have to make sure we get enough sleep, get practice in and don’t ruin our voices.”

Bugg has previously supported The Stone Roses and after finishing his stint with Noel will head on the road across the US with Snow Patrol. He releases his eponymous debut today (October 15) and will tour the UK next month.
