James Bay could collaborate with Professor Green after meeting at the VO5 NME Awards 2018

"We're sat on the same table, what a lovely bloke"

James Bay has said that he could collaborate with Professor Green in the future, who he met at last night’s VO5 NME Awards 2018.

The VO5 NME Awards 2018 took place last night (February 14) at O2 Academy Brixton in London. See the full winners list here.

“I’ve been hanging out with Professor Green,” Bay told NME backstage. “We’re sat on the same table, what a lovely bloke.”

“You never know,” Bay added. “I don’t know yet. I need to get back to the table to talk to him about it.”

James Bay returned earlier this month with ‘Wild Love’ from his forthcoming second album.

After his debut album The Chaos & The Calm became the biggest-selling debut of 2015, Bay previously admitted that the sound of his second record was influenced by listening to Lorde and Frank Ocean.

“It definitely takes it to a new place. I’ve got a new look, a new sound. I just fancied a new chapter. There are moments on the album that sort of ‘bridge’ from ‘The Chaos And The Calm’ to the new album, but the best way I could put it is that I’ve been listening to other stuff. I got deep into Frank Ocean, LCD Soundsystem, Chance The Rapper, a load of David Bowie, Lorde”, he told NME last year.

“All of these sounds that don’t really relate to the first album but hugely relate to this album. I’m really excited for people to hear that and some familiar moments too.”
