Mercury Prize winner's third album 'Radio Silence' is expected later this year
The British musician is prepping his third album, titled ‘Radio Silence’, recently performing the title-track live.
Now, recently speaking to Esquire, Blake has revealed that West and Vernon will be among the guest stars.
“I can confirm that they’re on it,” Blake told the magazine, adding that he’s currently collaborating with West on the material.
“Kanye – I’m with him today. We’d already started on something… today we should nail something down. If it doesn’t end up on the album you know it hasn’t worked.”
West and Vernon have been linked with Blake in the past, with the rapper describing Blake as his “favourite artist” last year. Vernon also teamed up with Blake back in 2011 for ‘Fall Creek Boys Choir’.
Blake also confirmed in the article that psych-pop musician Connan Mockasin will also feature on the LP.
Last year, Blake confirmed that his third album was half-finished.
“I’ve had a completely different life since the first album. I’ve had a lot more freedom since the first album, too,” he said at the time.
“The [album] I’m writing now, I’ve had more focus doing this than I have before. I’m having more fun. It’s hard to say what will end up on the record, but it’s exciting.”
His last release was 2013’s ‘Overgrown’, for which he won that year’s Mercury Prize.
