James Blake and Chance The Rapper reveal news of further collaborations

The two artists have made more music together in addition to the rapper's guest appearance on the 'Life Round Here' remix

Chance The Rapper has said that he and James Blake have recorded more material together, in addition to the rising Chicago hip-hop star’s appearance on a remix of Blake’s track ‘Life Round Here’.

The pair met at SXSW in Austin, Texas earlier this year. The two kept in touch and since then have worked on a few tracks, including some original material. Speaking to XXL, Chance said he was “really excited” about the new songs he’s made with Blake. Speaking about the ‘Life Round Here’ remix, he commented: “I love his records, so to do another version of one of his songs that I felt was already completed was… you know… you don’t wanna fuck somebody’s shit up. I jumped on it and people seem to like it a lot. But I’m really excited for our other shit too.”

Blake unveiled the ‘Life Round Here’ remix earlier this week. Speaking to Radio 1‘s Zane Lowe about how the collaboration came about, Blake said: “I really like his mixtape [Acid Rap] and saw him at South by Southwest, I just thought his voice would work really well. I never felt the track was finished, even when it went on the album, I always thought there was space for something else.” Scroll down to listen to the track now.

James Blake is nominated for this year’s Mercury Prize alongside Arctic Monkeys, David Bowie and Laura Marling.
