You won't have long to wait for Blake's first album in three years

James Blake has confirmed more details of his new album ‘Assume Form’, ending the three-year wait since his previous album ‘The Colour In Anything‘ in 2016.

Fans won’t have long to wait for the new record, which was first confirmed as having a January 18 release date on posters spotted in London.

Blake has now officially confirmed the news, along with information about UK tour dates for April, the album’s artwork, and the tracklist.

The aforementioned poster indicated that ‘Assume Form’ will have a stellar list of guests, including Andre 3000, Travis Scott, Moses Sumney, Metro Boomin and Rosalia – and all of those features have now been officially confirmed after Blake shared the tracklist on Friday evening (January 11).

Since the release of ‘The Colour In Anything’, Blake has released two standalone singles: a cover of Don McLean’s 1970s hit ‘Vincent’ and ‘If The Car Beside You Moves Ahead’. Blake also released Mount Kimbie collaboration ‘Don’t Miss It’, which has now been confirmed to be on ‘Assume Form’.

The first confirmation of ‘Assume Form’ came via Blake’s Instagram page last Saturday, when he posted a link to the ‘Assume Form’ website. The title ‘Assume Form’ has also been projected onto Shoreditch underground station, among other London landmarks featured in a video on the ‘Assume Form’ website.

The video on the site asks a series of questions – possibly lyrics to one of the album’s songs – scrolling down the screen. These include: “Now you can feel everything, doesn’t it seem more natural?”, “Doesn’t it see you float?”, “Doesn’t it feel connected?” and “Don’t you know your best side shows when you’re unaware, not thinking, just primal?”

Blake has also confirmed three UK dates, which are set for April. Check out the dates in full below and buy tickets here from 9AM on January 18.

7 – Manchester, O2 Victoria Warehouse
9 – Bristol, O2 Academy
18 – London, Eventim Apollo

A long stretch of American tour dates will precede the UK gigs, while Blake has also been confirmed to play Nuits Sonores in France and Primavera Sound in Barcelona in May.

Fans who pre-order the album via the ‘Assume Form’ website will be eligible for a pre-sale of tickets on January 16, with the rest available on the album’s release day next week.
