James Blunt makes it five in a row

He remains at the peak of the UK single and album charts...

James Blunt remains immoveable at the top of the UK album and single charts yet again today (August 14).

Neither Craig David, in at three with ‘All The Way’, Goldfrapp, taking a bow at four with ‘Ooh La La, nor Akon, at five with ’Belly Dancer’, can kick the former army man from the singles summit. It’s now five weeks for ‘You’re Beautiful’.

Elsewhere, Magic Numbers diva strop on Top Of The Pops seems to have helped their chart placings. The rotund rockers and NME cover stars enter at 12 on the single chart with ‘Love Me Like You’ while their self-titled debut album climbs from 12 to eight on the album chart.

Back on the singles countdown, there are two other new entries on the top 20 as Mattafix enter at 15 with ‘Big City Life’, one ahead of Axwell at 16 with ‘Feel The Vibe (Til The Morning

Veterans Supergrass return to the top 40 at 22 with ‘St. Petersburg’, two ahead of Longview at 24 with

‘Further’. Nine Black

Alps sneak into the 30 at 30 with ‘Unsatisfied’.

Lady Sovereign and Frankie J are the only other two new entries on the top 40.

In a quiet album week, Daniel

Powter scores the only new entry on the top 10 with his self-titled album. Kaiser Chiefs climb to three, one behind Coldplay.
