James Brown widow ‘not in will’

Lawyers say Tomi Rae Hynie is not included

James Brown’s widow Tomi Rae Hynie has not been included in his will, according to lawyers.

The star’s attorneys say his will does not include Hynie and the five-year-old child, James Jr, she had with him. However Brown did include his other six children.

Hynie says she was married to Brown, but the soul singer’s family have been disputing her claim.

The family argue that because Hynie was already married at the time of her wedding to Brown their union was void. Her prior marriage was annulled but she and Brown never held another ceremony.

Hynie’s lawyer Thorton Morris told BBC NEWS that she was being shut out of his plans.

“She’s not ever able to participate in the burial of her husband,” he said.
