“He cost us $45,000”: James Corden reveals how Kanye West pulled out of Carpool Karaoke three times

"He’s cancelled, twice. Maybe even three times."

James Corden has revealed how the Late Late Show was left with a hefty bill, after Kanye West pulled out of a planned Carpool Karaoke appearance on three separate occasions.

The surprise revelation came during an interview last night with Kanye’s mother-in-law Kris Jenner.

As she asked why the hip-hop icon hadn’t appeared on Corden’s hugely popular singalong segment, the host revealed how Kanye had stood him up on three separate occasions.

“I can answer this easily”, he told Jenner in response.

“We’ve tried. He’s cancelled, twice. Maybe even three times. He cancelled once as I was turning the corner to his house. I was outside his house and they were like, ‘He’s not in the zone for it right now. We’ll do it another time.’

“He did send me a lovely gift… He sent me these incredible flowers in a cube. A cube of flowers, which I’d never seen before, and he sent me a pair of Yeezys. People were like, ‘Woah, they’re so expensive,’ and I was like, ‘Yeah! They cost my show $45,000!'”

But despite failing to secure Kanye for a ride around Los Angeles, Corden still has equally impressive guests on the way.

Yesterday, it was confirmed that he has filmed a Carpool Karaoke with Ariana Grande, ahead of her new album hitting shelves this month.

In June, he also premiered a touching Carpool Karaoke segment with Paul McCartney, which saw him touring the streets of Liverpool with the Beatles icon.

Corden later referred to his trip with McCartney as “quite possibly the best #CarpoolKaraoke we’ve done so far.”
