Musician could potentially have played the Beast in the live-action remake
Jamie T has revealed that he was invited to audition for Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of Beauty And The Beast.
The musician was asked try out for the lead role of the Beast, which eventually went to Downton Abbey actor Dan Stevens.
“I’ve been asked to do musicals,” he recalled in an interview with Q. “And I got asked last year to audition for Beauty And The Beat. They said Emma Watson’s playing the Beauty and we want you to audition for the Beast.”
Asked whether he was tempted to accept the audition, Jamie T added jokingly: “I was like, ‘Come on, y’know… then I called back and asked, ‘How much?'”
Alongside Emma Watson and Dan Stevens, Disney’s upcoming live-action gathers an impressive ensemble cast that also includes Ian McKellen, Ewan McGregor, Emma Thompson, Josh Gad, Stanley Tucci, Kevin Kline, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Audra McDonald and Luke Evans. Directed by Dreamgirls‘ Bill Condon, it hits cinemas on March 17, 2017.
Jamie T released his fourth album ‘Trick’ earlier this month (September) and saw it debut at Number Three in the UK. He recently told NME that he feels as though he is in his best shape for six years.
