The songwriter says he sought advice from the Blur frontman for his third album

Jamie T has said that he asked for advice from Blur frontman Damon Albarn when it came to his forthcoming third album, ‘Carry On The Grudge’.

“Damon Albarn told me to write from the heart,” said Jamie in a new interview with The Observer. “To not give a fuck what anyone else thinks. He said that was the only way I was gonna get a record that was…,” ‘That was?’ asked the journalist. “I think he might have said ‘As good as mine’.”

In the piece, Jamie T reveals that despite his four-year absence from the music industry, he did in fact play a number of low-key gigs at acoustic nights in his native Wimbledon, testing out third album material, and appearing under the the name Jamie.
