The ballet and score was inspired by Jonathan Safran Foer's book of the same name
The Jamie xx-scored contemporary ballet Tree of Codes has premiered at the Manchester International Festival, with footage of the performance surfacing online.
The ballet, inspired by Jonathan Safran Foer’s book of the same name, was debuted at the Manchester Opera House last Thursday (July 2) and runs until July 10.
The Tree of Codes ballet was directed and choreographed by Wayne McGregor in a space created by visual artist Olafur Eliasson, performed with dancers from both The Paris Opera Ballet and McGregor’s Random Dance Company.
New work from Björk and FKA Twigs also feature on the programme at biennial arts festival, taking place in venues across Manchester between July 2-19.

Jamie xx released his debut solo LP ‘In Colour’ last month (June 1). The album charted at Number Three in the Official UK Albums Chart.
