Jamie xx has shared his new video for ‘Gosh’ from his ‘In Colour’ album.
The video is directed by Romain Gavras, who has also made videos for Kanye West & Jay Z, The Last Shadow Puppets and Justice. It features a cast of over 400 actors, with no CGI or 3D effects.
The ‘Gosh’ video is premiered the day before Jamie xx plays Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time tomorrow (July 2) at Hyde Park on a bill also featuring Florence And The Machine, Kendrick Lamar and Jamie xx.
He then plays on the Friday of T In The Park and new festival Sunfall at London’s Brockwell Park the day after on a bill also featuring Ben Klock, Moodymann, Kamasi Washington, Anthony Naples, Goldie, Zomby and Joy Orbison.
Jamie xx’s solo tour is due to end on September 5 at Made In America festival in Philadelphia.
Work will then resume on The xx’s third album. The trio had sessions in Texas in 2014 with Savages producer Rodaidh McDonald, and they said last November that the follow-up to 2012’s ‘Coexist’ would be released this year.
Since ‘Coexist’, bassist Oliver Sim has fronted a campaign for Dior Homme, while singer Romy Madley-Croft featured on New York duo Creep’s single ‘Days’.
