Jamie xx and Four Tet appeared together on the most recent BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix. The xx producer played forthcoming tracks ‘Gosh’ and ‘Loud Places’ from his much-anticipated solo debut, titled ‘In Colour’ out June 1 on Young Turks.
Jamie xx also played his forthcoming contribution to Record Store Day on April 18 – non-album track ‘Alba’. Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden played never-before-heard material from recent work with Champion and Designer and tracks from his other project, known as Percussions. Elsewhere, Jamie xx has revealed the video for new song ‘Seesaw’ and the artwork to his upcoming debut. The electronic musician’s album still features The xx’s Oliver Sim and Romy Madley Croft, but also includes guests Four Tet, Young Thug, and Popcaan. Jamie has also spoken recently about The xx’s upcoming LP, which will presumably follow his solo release. The London musician said to Fader that The xx’s third album is “coming”. “We’ve got quite a lot of songs that are not finished, but I’m excited about it,” he said, adding: “It feels a lot more free than when we were making the last record.”
