The bad-tempered star gets into trouble at the premiere of the new 'Star Wars' movie...

Jamiroquai frontman JAY KAY was left with a bloodied nose after an altercation with a photographer following the ‘STAR WARS’ premiere in LONDON’s WEST END last night (May 14).

The singer claims to have been head-butted by a photographer he had earlier punched for damaging his car. The star was attending a premiere party for ‘Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones’ at St Martins’ Lane Hotel when the attack happened.

According to witnesses, a smiling and joking Jay Kay emerged from the hotel, insisted he had no intention of brawling with photographers and went to his new £70,000 Bentley to get cigarettes. Moments later, he got into an argument with photographers. Accusing one of damaging his car, he punched the photographer, breaking the flash on his camera. The photographer was then said to have headbutted Jay Kay.

Police took statements at the scene, but no charges have been brought.

“At approximately 1.25am, police were called to an alleged assault in St Martin’s Lane,” a Met spokesperson said. “A male suffered cuts to the face and nose and obviously we will investigate.” The spokesman added that “two males have each made contradictory allegations to common assault against each other”.

It’s not the first time Jay Kay has been involved in public scraps. Most recently, at the Brit Awards in February, he became involved in a fight at the bar of an aftershow party.

He is due to perform in Ealing tonight at the Broadway Boulevard, one of the first places he played before finding fame.
