Pastry chef admits to vandalising Jamiroquai’s Jay Kay’s Ferrari

Aaron Billington had drunk a bottle of vodka before the incident

Suffolk pastry chef Aaron Billington has admitted to causing around £30,000-worth of damage to Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay‘s Ferrari Enzo.

Billington made the confession at Lowestoft Magistrates’ Court today (March 4), reports BBC News.

The prosecution said that he had drunk a bottle of vodka before the incident and had behaved “arrogantly” towards the singer.

Prosecutor Robert Barnwell said that Billington had thrown stones at the Ferrari, resulting in a smashed windscreen and window.

Damien Moore, mitigating in the case, claimed that the chef, who was on a night off on the night of the incident, was provoked into a fit of anger by Jay Kay.

“He [Moore] was socialising with people,” he said, “which included the complainant [Kay] and others, and he says that, as the evening progressed, the complainant began making some comments which Mr Billington found to be deeply offensive.

“And he says that, because of the comments that were being made, he felt that there was an element of provocation which sparked him, essentially, into a fit of anger.”

Billington was released on bail and will be sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court at a later date.
