Janelle Monae has released the video for her new single ‘Dance Apocalyptic’.

It’s the second single to be taken from her forthcoming album ‘The Electric Lady’ after ‘QUEEN.’, a collaboration with Erykah Badu, appeared back in April (2013).

The Kansas-born singer has just announced that ‘The Electric Lady’ will be available to buy from September 10. She made her announcement with a short Instagram video clip in which she is seen scribbling the name of the album and release date on a sheet of paper. Click here to watch it.

She’s yet to unveil the full tracklisting but earlier this month (June) she revealed that the album will feature a collaboration with Prince. She’s also teamed up with Miguel for a track called ‘Primetime’ which features a sample of the Pixies’ classic ‘Where Is My Mind?’.

Other tracks set to appear include ‘Dorothy Dandridge Eyes’ and ‘Victory’. ‘The Electric Lady’ is Monae’s follow-up to her highly acclaimed 2010 album ‘The ArchAndroid’. Prior to that debut, she had released an EP, ‘Metropolis: Suite I (The Chase)’ in 2007.
