And it's going to play before Black Panther screenings
Janelle Monáe has officially announced her new album, ‘Dirty Computer’.
‘Dirty Computer’ will be the Grammy nominated musician’s third album, and is set to be accompanied by a “narrative film project”.
A teaser trailer for the ‘Dirty Computer’ film launched on Monáe’s YouTube earlier today, featuring a floating car, club goers, and lavish cinematography. Watch below:
In the clip, the new project is described as “An emotion picture by Janelle Monáe”.
The ‘Dirty Computer’ trailer will air before screenings of the new Marvel movie Black Panther in the US this weekend.
Janelle Monáe was one of several stars in attendance at the movie’s premiere back in January.
NME described the film as the “best Marvel movie yet”.
In a four star review, Olly Richards wrote: “It doesn’t play as a chapter in a larger saga but as its own contained story. You can show up without seeing any of the previous 17 MCU instalments and be completely fine.”
Last month, Janelle Monae gave a powerful ‘Time’s Up’ speech at the Grammys.
“Tonight I am proud to stand in solidarity, not just as an artist, but a young woman with my fellow sisters in this room who make up the music industry,” she said.
“We come in peace, but we mean business. And to those who would dare try and silence us, we offer you two words: Time’s up.”
